Fun, excitement and some competitive spirt were in the air as the ‘athletes’ prepared for their events. For a full week, the residents of the healthcare center at Shipley Senior Living in Wilmington, Delaware, celebrated their very own Olympics, with activities including a basketball competition, hockey (using pool noodles and beach balls), and a torch toss. Medals were awarded to the top contenders.
“Everyone looks forward to the Olympics and our residents were certainly no exception,” said Kimberly Stout, director of life enrichment. “Their anticipation and good-natured participation along with our creative staff ensured that it was a great event. We’re already looking forward to 2026 in Italy!”
